a monarch butterfly in the wild - minimal editing - just curves and levels. i prefer to capture nature - naturally, rather than at a zoo or any type of controlled enviroemnt...
shot in RAW
i chased a number of them around the yard in hopes of getting a 'good' shot - i got four that are printed and framed at 8x10" - they are printable at 16x24" or 16x20"

Very nice picture and the only negative I have is the shadow on the leaf is a little distracting. Maybe standing at a higher vantage point would remove the shadow. I don't care for the bottom side of the leaf in the bottom of the picture but that can be croped out very easy so it's not really a concern.
I feel this captures the challenge well. Nice colours on the monarch. Focus is okay but I would have liked the background just a little more blurred and uniform.
