Challenge: From the Ground Up II (Basic Editing III)
Camera: Olympus C-765UZ
Location: Rochester, NY
Date: Sep 23, 2005
Galleries: Urban, Architecture
Date Uploaded: Sep 23, 2005

I guess this title is technically incorrect, because this building was erected in the 20th century...but whatever. It's One Chase Square, in downtown Rochester, NY... the same building I photographed for the Perspective II challenge. I'm kind of annoyed with that blotch on the bottom just off-center. This building is pretty dirty, and I didn't happen to bring anything with me to clean it with. Hopefully you guys don't lower my score too much for that... Shot with an Olympus C765-UZ with Circular Polarizing filter. Post-adjustment includes levels, curves, crop, USM. Thanks for voting!

______________________________
Once again, thanks to everybody who voted (especially those who voted high...). This is my second challenge in a row that broke my personal scoring record. This is the same building as the one shot in the Perspecive II challenge. Unfortunately, it was impossible to crop out that little spot in the corner without sacficing the dramatic look this image has. I appreciate any comments.

Nice choice of subject... Good flowing lines. Have you any shots of you stood further to the right to get more symmetry? Although maybe this wasn't possible.

i love how the building seems like it going to dissapear into the clouds. very interesting architecture, good choice on the subject. could have done without the black in the corner.

If only you would have lined up one of the lines in this photo to the frame. but you could have at least gotten rid of the spot in the top left corner it just ruins the shot

Nice composition. The black thing in the top left corner is very distracting.

The bit of a house showing on top left is not good for this picture.

Gorgeous building. Too bad you couldn't have cropped that dark object off on the top left, but I see why you couldn't. Nice colors and perspective.

Nice idea, dark corner (upper left) is distracting, as is the slight tilt to the right.
