The remains of a burned out and decaying pier on Maryland's Eastern Shore. I came up with the idea of the global warming conspiracy theory first. Went fishing today with my son while on vacation at the beach and the remnants of this old pier just jumped out at me. I had to make it fit my topic idea. Tried to make it look ominous and forboding. Increased contrast slightly, added a slight brown filter to the entire image which only effected the hue of the foreground water. I wanted to bring in a little color to help catch the eye and give a gloomy appearance. I liked the burned out backround. I will be interested to read the comments to see if I was able to express the proper mood that I was going for.

emotive photo, but to make it really a "kick in the butt photo" you need a human element, e.g. floting doll, broken furniture, crying baby etc.

photo doesn't indicate a conspiracy to me.

Cool effect, very haunting. It reminds me of a photo collection I saw at a gallery a while back.

Almost looks like skyscrapers. Nice effects using the lighting.

Great idea. Would like to see more distinction of the logs

the stark colors really add to the effect here. Also, the reddish water (?) and black poles seem to speak "chaos".

Good work.

This is a cool abstract. I'd have liked to see it cropped almost to the post on the left, though, to eliminate the blank space on the edge of the frame.

I really had to think about this one. It wasn't immediately clear. Maybe the glare at the top threw me. Nice interpretation.

I like the silhouettes and I really like the color treatment on the water. I'm straining a bit with the conspiracy aspect, but overall I like the photo itself.

I like this alot. The warm tones and the linear quality of the pilons is well done.
