huh, that is very interesting. I wonder if his eyes are really striped, or if that's just an optical effect caused by the compound eye (some synthetic materials bounce light similarly). //edit - did you happen to notice if the stripes were static, or if the (apparent) striping shifted with your perspective? I'm guessing that this guy is about as small as he looks, and so it might have been impossible to tell...
