Photographer’s Notes
Seattle Center is always an interesting place to take pictures. Hopefully, here’s a good one of the Space Needle from an unusual perspective!

The Space Needle was built for the 1962 World's Fair. The 605 foot Needle was designed by Edward E. Carlson. Carlson's design called for a soaring needle topped by a disk reminiscent of a flying saucer. In the saucer is the SkyCity restaurant revolving through 360 degrees once each hour. And above that the observation deck.

Here is the Sat Photo courtesy Google Earth.
And another view from one of my challenge entries.

Other interesting observation towers:
* CN Tower - 1976 - 1,815 feet - Toronto
* Stratosphere - 1996 - 1,149 feet - Las Vegas
* Sky Tower - 1997 - 1,076 feet - Aukland
* Eiffle Tower - 1889 - 985 feet - Paris

As an observation, I was surprised how CLEAN the Space Needle is. I mean it's stored outside in the rain and all, but it's subject to the pollution of the city and such. I wonder how they keep it so CLEAN. Inquiring minds want to know.

I don't get down to the Space Needle as often as I wish I could. Nice perspective. (Caba?)

I expected a lot of "looking up at the building" shots. Some of what I've seen I haven't really cared for all that much. I really like this one though. I think what makes it different are the many patterns within the image. Like the almost "ladder-like steps" leading straight up the middle. The circles with spokes at the top. The v-shaped lines leading from the sides inward. All of these patterns work well to bring your eyes right into the picture. Well done!

Very symmetrical. Is this the needle in Seattle? It almost appears to be a bird with it's wings spread and the circular part is the head. (ok, I'm getting carried away - I need more coffee)
Nicely done.
