My son in our hammock. The lighting's a little harsh, but I liked how it really emphasized his jowls. Plus he's a great-looking kid already (we'll see if the voters agree). I loved the colors in this shot, and the dead-center composition I find funny.

The exposure on this shot was really tricky, because I wanted detail in the shadows without completely blowing out the highlights. This particular shot was just a ittle overexposed, so his face is hotter than i would normally like. i burned it down a little which helped, but couldn't go too far or he started to turn gray.

No fair tugging on the parental strings...Very handsome. Beautiful colors and detail. The focus is lost on the hammock and should be on his eyes. The mountain in the back ground is very distracting. A better crop or angle would have helped. The lighting could be a lot better. A different angle or fill flash would have helped here also. Overall it's a nice shot. And by the way you did great capturing his "jowls"

how cute!

Though this is an adorable shot, I would like to have seen a bit more of a dynamic composition. The mountain in the background is distracting, and I would like to have seen that little face turned more towards the light. The concept of him in the hammock (or whatever it is), is great, and the colors are lovely - perhaps try some different angles of approach and definitely some closer crops.

Oh, this is adorable! I almost don't even care that he is dead center in the picture. Very cute kid.

Awww, what a cute photo. he seems kind of puzzled as to what's going on, but I love that hammock. When I look at him, my eyes drift to the mountain in the background and therefore distracts a bit from the main subject (at least to my untrained eyes), but what a fun keepsake shot for the future.

some diffusion on the key side and some kick back from the opposite side would be cool..

Love it except for the shadow of a mountain in the back.

This is so adorable. I love the compositon and the way you set up the scene. The colors from the hammock are a really nice touch as well as the mountains in the background. The sunlight is just a tad on the harsh side, but it kind of adds to the outdoor environment you've set up. Very nice.

I would reshoot this in a moment of the day with less heavy shadows. Verry good ideea anyways.

Great capture. Nice lighting and coloring in the overall photo.

A fill flash, reflector, or even some dodging would've helped to even out the lighting on the shadowed side.

I like the composition and colors, the face lighting is a little harsh though

This is gorgeous comp! Your shot just caught my eye...the colors, clarity and darling expression. Definately a good example of how centered composition can work well.

It's like...."What are you looking at fool?" So serious looking!

Personally, this is a cute photo but I think it is more candid than portrait.

how adorable...great job

His face his half lit, half shadow. He doesn't look happy but he is too young to be sad to see summer end. I also find the hammock distracting.

adorable! what a great setup, the colours of the fabric add so much.
i think if you had waited until later in the day, the lower sun would have cast a much nicer shadow on your model's face.

Now this is just cute! The lighting even says, last of the summer! Nice job!

How very cute, clean, and crisp. The colors are very nice, and the sky above set it off nicely. GL.
