talk about a powerful image! I wish it was a closer view though so we could see more of her expression...the out of focus background works wonderfully here with the intent of this image! I like the offset composition and the side lighting...

A portrait with a story. Very nicely done.

The framing shows up too much empty space in the middle and the subject (title of the photo) is too much on the side line. Could have been better to bring her a little more to the center.

I would have preferred the main subject to be more prominently located not so far off to the right.

nice image but a bit too candid to be a true portrait for me... :)

I usually don't like a background in a portrait. It distracts...but this one tells more of the story and adds to the persona of the subject. I like it. 8.

Of all of the images I've voted on so far, this one brings up the most emotion. Great capture.

This little girl looks so cute with that frown...hope it didnĀ“t last long.. the background is a little too busy for a portrait though..

Interesting portrait. It doesn't fit my usual understanding of portrait...it seems more journalistic, but that is very subjective (isn't it all?) so my score is not affected by that.

The model and the expression are compelling and captured well. The background, even though blurred, is still a bit distracting for me. I like seeing some of the people - it does set the model off a bit - but the composition as is has the backgroud crowd and the model competing too much for my attention I think.

Good colors and lighting. Good luck in the challenge!

a bit too much space to me. I would have cropped at the other boy on left.

Wrong contest, but right photo.... I love the use of DOF to individualize and group your subject. Nicely done.

the background is pretty distracting but at the same time it gives us a feeling thats she's lonely and different from the rest 7

My immediate reaction...she looks so lonely, I just wanted to give her a reassuring word or hug. I like the bright colors of her outfit and the blurred background.

NIce shot. But not real portrait oriented, I would have like to have seen this closer up, so I could see more details of her face. The lighting is really good though.

I have mixed emotions about this one. One one hand, I like the background as it shows a sense of depth. At the same time, all the people in the background clutter the frame and make the scene busy.

Very nice; I like it a lot. The foreground very crisp and sharp and the backround a little blurry. Almost appears as if they are standing on a set. I really like this photograph
