This is a picture of empty locust shells taken during the day. I really liked the way the sun made the eyes appear like they are glowing. My father has a tree covered with all these locust shells, and this picture was taken on one of the branches. I did not edit this photo in the least bit as I am still learning photoshop. I knew it had something wrong with it, and it could possibly be the lighting since it was taken during mid day.

I appreciate everyone's comments and advice. I am just beginning, and I realize that the major challenge for me is going to be learning photoshop so I will continue to forge ahead in that area. Thanks again!

Oooh I like this picture; It's so funny and I love the diagonal; I wish the foreground would be brighter and also a little bit more in focus; still - a great pic;

This is so strangely unique that it is cool. I would hang this as a poster on my wall. It speaks to me of the blind leading the blind. 9

Focus point is a little bit too close. There appears to be a bit of a bright haziness to the tops of the bugs. Direct sunlight? Cool procession though.

Color is dull and grey. The subject is creative, but it sort of creeps me out.

What are these things? I would like the lighting a little less harsh and maybe just a bit better focus.

underexposed (although the eyes are cool)

It is difficult to make out what, exactly your subject is here. They appear to be interesting bugs, or perhaps crabs of some sort. The backlighting has obviously created problems for this image causing you to lose detail in the critters' sides. Other than that, it doesn't exactly scream "branch"--it could be a tree trunk, or a hill of dirt.

I don't know if it is the lightling or the focus that seems to be off. I love the image and regardless is a very good shot.

Well spotted! A great shot. What a strong composition and lovely rhythm with the insects. I wondered at first have they stole the show entirely? Has the branch been simply reduced to a stage prop rather than the principal actor?
