Greetings from the critique club

David, this is a wonderful portrait. Its 'speaking' so to say. I really like the composition, including the spoon in the hand and the printed t-shirt, as they tell me something about the subject. The crop is just right.

It appears to have been taken indoors (based on ISO/aperture), yet the lighting is nice and soft and works well here.

If you were looking for ways to add some extra punch, you might want to sharpen the eyes a bit more, and/or dodge them a bit to brighten up the catchlights.

Overall, I like this portrait a lot. As the last commenter pointed out, its hard not to smile with her when looking at this portrait.

I hope you found the critique helpful. Please feel free to PM me if you have questions.

This is the way a child should look! Bright natural smile and eyes...no plastic looking skin or makeup. Really hard to look at this shot and not smile with her :) I really like this shot.

Technically, I might also consider (as suggested in another comment) darkening the hand area to more or less black it out. Just a little distracting. You have a beautiful daughter.

I like how natural this is. And the lighting is excellent on the little model's face. Very nice angle. It looks like a candid, but an excellent one.

Really nice! Lover her expression and the soft muted colors are very pleasing. But what I like most is the tilted composition, makes it stand out from the rest. Nice catchlights too.

Everything about her face is terrific, the hand is distracting and the so is the writing on the shirt.

Great catch of a very cute expression. I like the crop, just including the lettering on the shirt. Nice touch. The end of the object she is holding in her right hand is a little distracting, I think darkening it a little would be a good thing. Also, consider a tad more contrast (personal preference).

wow, I love the connection that I make as the viewer with this little girl. It may have something to do with her eyes or the pose. I think the message on her shirt put together with the crop on her shot is wonderful. great shot!

Very nice...you've captured a natural smile on this pretty girl...which isn't so easy to do with children.

What a Cutie! Great picture. I would have cropped most of her shirt since its a bit distracting but then you would loose her name. Good Job!

What a doll! I would have liked to see more of her face and head rather than the blurred out hand, but that is just me. She's a keeper!

Oh wow ! She is so cute ! Beautiful portrait. I would have cropped the bottom though ... There is no need to see the writing on her T-shirt.

Nice image, good catchlights in the eyes and very nice focus and framing. Your lighting makes the image soft and clean.
