Thank you all for the comments. This was shot on a 6 day cruise in the Baltic Sea with stops in Copenhagen, Visby, Tallinn Estonia, St. Petersburg Russia, Helsinki, and return to Stockholm. I was hired by the cruise line to shoot photos of the ship and do a virtual tour of it as well. What a blast! I think the photo coveys the feeling of relaxation clearly.
I was really disappointed with the results of the challenge and I find myself somewhat disillusioned. The shoe shot that I took had a delicate feel to it, it's side lit by sunlight from the left and it made the ocean a brilliant blue. The composition, in my mind, is well balanced in that while the black shoes occupy and weigh the lower left, the upper right is open and light. I felt that cropping the image would result in a composition that feels more "boxed in" and cramped and it took away from the open, light feeling that I was trying to project here.
At any rate, I really liked this shot. It seems however, that the majority of voters did not. Better luck next time, I suppose. |

| Tighter Crop would have helped, too much sky. Red shoes would have helped add some pop to the image. |

| The composition would be stronger if the horizon wasn't dead cehtre. Half the sky could be cropped to MUCH improve the shot. Good depth of field |
