| I have lived here all my life, and you know what, i don't think i ever saw the sky-line like this from this side of the river before - at least not docklands and the mill dome in the same view (i am SO used to seeing them the other side to each other that this view is entirely alien to me...) i've been to ally pally once, but twas hazy so I missed out on this great view. only guessing, but i think that must be shooters hill behind the dome (other side of which i used to live). this is a terrific first submission - i love how rich the greens came out. |

Nice image with a lot to look at. The birds add a bit of feeling to the overall image. The focus is very good and the dof you used appears to be infinity cause everything seems to be in reasonably good focus. The trees add a lot of texture and feel to the photo, the composition is really good fits the challenge well.
Only thing I might change is something that really you have little control over. The taller buildings and the ones in the distance seem to be in a fog, but they also take from the image as you look at it. Maybe a different time of day might help.
Overall this is a wonderful image, keep up the good work.

| I'd have cropped the top some so that the horizon was higher. Took me a second to realize these were row houses. But once I did, that added to the emotion of the image. The birds are a nice touch. |

5. Fits the theme well enough, and there are no blatant 'you suck!' flaws to it, but neither does it really grab me for any reason at all. For reasons of composition, cropping, or subject choice, it's just a photo, and doesn't do especially much for me, aesthetically.
There's nothing the eyes are drawn to, other than the pair of birds. |

Very nice shot indeed. I can\'t quite place my finger on what it is, but there\'s something very satisfying about looking at it. Perhaps the rows of houses, the birds, the bands of blues at the back...who knows? I just like it. The title helps - kinda stirring.
Good to see you got the Milennium Monstrosity in there too :) |
