Thought this would have placed better. Gave it a 7.

The in focus step in the foreground grabs much more attention than the shoes.

Nice shot, but I wish the shoes were in focus rather than the stairs!

The composition and focus is not doing anything to help draw attention to your subject "shoes". First rule of photography is usually to do something that draws attention to your subject, iyou generally use out of focus to draw attention away from objects that you don't want noticed, so this ends up being a photo of "steps".

I'd like to see the focus on the shoes instead of the stairs.

i love natural gradients formed by steps.

GREAT use of shallow DOF!! Works just wonderful here!!!
I bet you're being hummered though... people here wouldn't recognize a good shot even if it fell on their heads... 10

Focus in the wrong place. Could have been much better. As a general rule the shoes should have been nearer the foreground with the focus disappearing behind them.

Sorry. On a challenge for shoes, I think the shoes should be the main focus, or at least close to it. The first step appears as if it is in focus, but the shallow DOF hurts the image quite a bit.

is you subject shoes or stairs. To me stairs, so a low score.

Presumably, the shoes are the main interest in this shot. Why are they out of focus. I really like the texture of the steps, and it has the possibility of being a really good shot, but it's all foreground with nothing in it.

nice concept although i feel the background should have been in focus as opposed to the foreground.. maybe this was intentional?

This has the wrong subject in focus. My eye is drawn to the step instead of the walker.

I would have focused on the shoes since the title refers to them

the shoes in this photo are so far away. why are they like that. the focus of this photo seems to be on the stairs.

i dont like the depth of field with this one. a nice all-around sharp photo would have done it better for me.

sorry couldn't give a high score because the subject was so out of focus it actually sent my eyes funny. Good Idea tho'

Nice texture. I like how the feet are out of focus, but you may have wanted to bring them a little closer. Title is boring.

You got your leading lines. You got your selective focus. You got your abstracted subject. You got your creative composition. You got your story within a frame. What's not to love about this? A real good shot to my eyes. 8

the stairs are cool but I don't really like how the person's blurry.

Shoudlnt the focus have been the shoes?

cool but I like the shoes to be sharp 6

Since shoes were the theme I think they should be the focal point of the shot not the steps.

focusing on the anti-subject of this photo does absolutely nothing good for it. coulda been an ok 5. now its a 3, sorry. if you were trying to illustrate the intended path of the 'walking shoes' a different angle/composition and making the shoes more apparent would all help.

I like your idea here!
Something that I think would improve it would be making the second and/or third steps the ones in focus. Having only the bottom edge of the photo in focus takes away from the rest of the image.
