Camera: Canon EOS-300D Rebel
Location: Nebraska...my kitchen table

Aperture: 4.0

Shutter: 1/60
Date Uploaded: Aug 23, 2005

My very first challenge entry. I purchased my 300D in May and still feel like I have not even scratched the surface of what I have to learn about it (and the field of photography, for that matter!).

I've been a member of this site for nearly a year and have been terrified to actually enter a challenge. I finally decided that the only way I'll ever improve my skills is to start taking photos, learning from my mistakes, and putting myself out there. I know this photo will not do well, but I learned a lot about lighting concepts by trial and error. I only hope that it will serve as the first step towards HUGE improvement in the future! Here goes nothing....!

Nice clean image, appears oversharpened on my monitor.

I think the background would have been better if it was black and I wish it didn't have that yellow line in the middle.

Interesting idea, but doesn't look appealing to me. 6

This is a well composed shot. Nice use of 3rds. Technically, it is lacking a little IMO. The upper half of the background should be darker to match the lower half and there is a slight yellow hue to the milk.

Satisfying, minimal image. I could almost use it to meditate to.

Looks like a studio shot, so the milk in the glass could have been brightened by better lighting. The shot's off-centre also.

Tee hee - cute take on the challnege. Nice cube of cheese. Had the background been more of a solid black I would have scored it higher.

good idea - I think this is one the "got Milk" people could actually use - either that or "California Cheese" Good job nice photo 7

A tighter crop would have made this more effective, I believe.

HEE HEE Cute idea. We've seen lots of glasses but I like this one. Crystal clear and well placed with the cube of cheese for a bit of pop.

Seems oversharpened a bit (some jaggies and halos), but kinda interesting shot!

Maybe better if the composition was a little surer.

Good idea, just a little lilted... it would work better if the glass was "level" with the horizon IMHO.

What a neat idea! Love the composition, background and lighting. The pic seems very, VERY sharp though! I could cut my finger on that cheese cube!
