I took this picture surreptitiously while in the drive-thru of a Dairy Queen. My wife, Cindy, and I had visited several ice cream bars to try & get some shots, but one was closed, and I wasn't thrilled with what I had taken so far - some of a neon ice cream cone, etc... so we decided to get some ice cream & head home. While in line, my wife, Cindy, noticed the group of ladies inside and said it would make a great picture, so I tried to shoot it through the car. I know it's a bit cluttered, but I like the photo. It's sweet moment - it shows you're never too old for ice cream!

I humbly disagree who state that the booth in the foreground shouln't be there.
The overall emptyness of the place and the general sense of age is what makes this photo for me. If you had gone closer in and only gotten the women at the table you would have lost all the character and feel of the setting.
Still a VERY strong photo in my opinion, and one of my favorites from the challenge.
I love this unusual composition. You perhaps chose this point-of-view mainly to be discrete, but I think you should claim to have done it deliberately because it makes for a fascinating image with a lot of artistic merit. There will be those who protest that the foreground booth, the chair, the window frames, etc are distracting. Take no notice whatsoever! 9
I love this shot. The B/W does the image justice. Although I would like to see the fourth person at the booth, the picture does well with a downhome feel all it's own. Great Job IMO an 8
Something different, very nice. Like the concept and the B/W. The voyeuristic perspective makes it interesting, but the large area in foreground is a little too much for me.
I like snapshots, but this is a bit too "snappy" for my liking. If you had moved over just a little bit, we wouldn't have half of the pic taken up with the table and backrest of your booth, instead of your subject.
The black and white works well for this shot.
I LOVE this one. The Black and White really adds to the feel of this one... I love the booth cutting through the picture, it effectivley removes distraction and provides great contrast to the black of the windows.
The extra chair is a little unsettling, blocking off the women on the left. I wonder if the picture would be better off without it, but at the same time, it does add something too.
If this was an advanced editing challenge I would expect that you'd get rid of the horizontal lines in the near booth (what is that, anyway) and the spot of light (flash?) in the window.
Overall GREAT JOB!
the tables in the foreground add nothing to the shot. Looks like a more intimate shot of just their table and hands and faces would have conveyed their tete-a-tete better
I'm givin' ya kudos for being original...the B and W were a great choice...thank you for not taking a picture of a milk "sploosh", a cow, or a milk lip/ any other body part.
