Another day of storm chasing. This was at City of Rocks. When you first pull up to the area, I guess more so due to the impending storm, you are struck by the hugeness of these rocks and then you wonder where the heck they came from. Hundreds of them most over 20 feet tall. The silence, combined with the storm, left me, well, awestruck.

Just got a look at this on my laptop. Completely different image. The tones in the sky are very odd indeed. Gonna have to fix that somehow...

Powerful, dramatic image... might look nice in black and white.

There's a satisfying tension in this image in that it evokes feelings of both calmness and turbulence. Lovely tones as well.

Oh I like it just the way it is. I like the greenish tinge of the shot. The looming clouds are great! From the perspective, you can't tell how tall they are. Thanks for the description.

This image accomplishes a visual splendor that is both serious and beautiful. The lighting, and the color give the rocks a foreboding look as it they waiting for the viewer to step right into a different world. They have a remote semblance to animals.

This is stunning - particularly with your filter choice. IT's so forboding. Love the rock shapes against the sky. Just lovely work.
