 Unfortunately no gigs (except for one I couldn't enter because of my age) took place near me during this challenge, so I had to figure out something.. else.

The boy in this picture is a good friend of mine and very musically talented. He's lead vocalist for two or three bands (I've lost count some time ago :) and pretty good in acting as well. Too bad he was playing in Helsinki during weekend with one of his bands, so they couldn't arrange a private gig for me.

I talked about this matter with him and we decided to do a quick photo shoot with some lame properties. I took about 50 shots of him while he was singing to a microphone (pretty good actually, we even got an audience!) and another 50 with the trumpet. Which he can't play at all, but luckily my Nikon only captures the image - not the sound. ;)

Shot it as NEF (Nikon RAW) and opened in Photoshop. Levels, Hue/Saturation, Curves, Unsharp Mask, Crop and Rotate were used. If I get points over 4.5 I'm happy!

I wish his facer were illuminated just a bit more. The overall capture is well done and the shot fits the challenge well.

background is nice. Both subtle but yet not black. The contrast might be a little overdone on the performer, but it isn't too bad. 8.

great tones, composition and poise....something makes me want half a centimer more on the bottom though

Light is too harsh, and texture of background is too distracting. Composition seems unimaginative.
