This was a stree musician at Venice beach. He had a bedroll, a cart for rolling his amplifier and a huge empty water bottle for his tip jar with "thank you" scrolled on it in black marker. I never saw his face but loved his hat and his red guitar. Desat/ sat; cropped.

I really like the desat effect here :) Such vibrant color against the BW :) great image overall.

I gave this a 10 during the voting and just visited it again - One of my favorites of the challenge and feel it should have scored higher. Nice emotion you captured here without even seeing a face. Good choice of desaturation, but not overdone!

Very nice composition. Great atmosphere. I personally would have liked to see the other colour, even just a little.

Not a bad finish. I think it should have finished more like the commenters thought it should have -- this was such a moody, cool photo. I loved it.

Good Placement Judy. Love the desat choice.

Thanks for the kind word folks. The desat was done to show that all he had was his arms and his guitar. I enjoyed receiving the comments.

Just dosen't hit me on an emotional level. 5.

Love the colours here - and the fact you can't see his face adds to the composition (helps focus attention onto the guitar)

Interesting photo, I can't decide if I like that much red cast in it or not. Could be my monitor.

Your choice to use selective desat doesn't make sense to me. I don't know what you are trying to convey with this style.

This picture is SO cool! It conveys such a spirit. It could almost have been a winner in the time capsule challenge too. It just draws me into the 60's for some reason. I love your composition, and it's about as sharp as it could be -- especially since it looks like it may be a candid shot. FANTASTIC JOB!!! 10

His arms have a very strange texture here, possibly as a result of selective desat that I don't believe has helped this photo in any way at all. The background is too cluttered however you choose to process the photo.

hmm... frame behind him and top right distracting...face would be nice but otherwise a nice shot

The selective desaturation works well for this picture. The anonimity of the performer also adds to the "dreaming" nature of the shot. 8.

I could be wrong, but this looks like a Joey shot. If not, take it as a compliment. It is very well done. Great tones. ...and tunes, probly.
