The forground object is the remains of a file cabinet recovered from the World Trade Center rubble. The door in the background is from a fire truck that was crushed by the collapsing towers. The truck was part of Squad Company One of Brooklyn, NY. Squad One lost 12 men on September 11.

We cannot forget the events that took place on that day.

Post processing: Crop, resize, adjust color, USM.

Just the mangled door by itself would have been better. There's too much going on in the background. At first view I couldn't tell but it looks like this was taken in a museum with a photograph hanging in the background? - Pity about that, I think the background really detracts from this. Lighting is a bit harsh - although if it was in a museum you probably didn't have much control over that! - On the positive side, this was a great idea for a 'time capsule' challenge. Sums up 2001 very well.

better lighting conditions may have improved the quality of this emotive subject well suited to this challenge
