FUn shot. I love hot air balloons. I even like the grainy filter!

Well done. Was it really 1960? (I mean the first 'modern' balloon).

Hot air balloons look much better in color.

Well, I didn't believe your title, so before I commented I made a little internet search--always something new to learn, isn't there?

That out of the way, I like this image. The hint of high cumulous clouds at the bottom increases the drama and the sense of flight. The grain works well with the black and white image--nice choice for the challenge topic. Lovely range of tones. It does appear you have sensor dust or a smudge on the lens recorded just below and left of the basket--too bad we can't fix these things in basic challenges--not a huge distraction anyway.

To me, this has a little too much grain. Otherwise, a very nice shot. I like the perspective.

how many "too grainy" comments did you get? lol. I know it was intentional. wished more clouds were visible tho. 8

I really like this shot. My one complaint is the noise - while I think you probably used it to make the photo appear that it was taken in 1960 (which is a good idea in theory), as someone who's used the noise filter in Photoshop before, it looks very uniform and digitally added to me. Great shot though! 7

I like the added noise to this image, though I wish the balloon wasn't quite so centered.
