This shot was taken in Northern California at a place called Point Reyes which is about 2 hours north of San Francisco along the ocean (Rt 1). I used my Nikkor 10.5 mm fisheye lens for this shot. The camera lens was almost right against the fence post as I knelt down to get the nice curvature on the ocean. As I was looking through the lens, I liked how it made the ocean look like the Earth, especially since some of the sand in the water gave some nice contrasting colors in the blue water (almost look like continents on earth). The fence post gave the picture a nice sense of perspective I thought. This is one of my favorite fisheye shots.
I really like the how the fisheye lens makes this look as if you are seeing the whole globe before you. My only suggestion would be to try and saturate the colors a little bit more in an effort to give the photo that "pop' factor. well done
I love this. Great use of a fisheye if I've ever seen one. The only thing I can think of to change would be bumping the saturation of the yellows and greens a little, but it's minor.
I got here after checking the Fisheye Shuffle, a forumpost by pawdrix, and I have to say I'm amazed! This really is fantastic, I guess a fisheye will be the next thing on my wishlist.
Yeah, this was taken at the overlook at the entrance to the Point Reyes Lighthouse here in NorCal. There is a small parking lot right at the place where you walk up to the lighthouse. There is a little point right next to the parking lot that you can walk to instead, and that is where I took this shot. I need to update the profile.
Very cool. The fisheye doesn't distort the coast too much but is very apparent on the horizon, makes it look almost like you're 50,000 feet up. Personally I would try to get rid of the curved looking fence in the lower right hand of the image to make the land part of the image look more natural. But its a cool shot nonetheless =]
What great perspective. This is already an excellent shot but you might try increasing the saturation a little, particually in the grass and sky. Nice work!
Yeah, 10.5 fisheye (Nikkor). Thanks SOOOO much for taking the time to look at some of my shots. It really feels good to have other people looking at your work and offer their thoughts. This site is really the first time I have started sharing my photography with others.
