This is a really great shot - clearly people didn't think it met the challenge. A shame that such narrow challenge interpretation affected your score - it really should have been above 6.

I really like this shot. The DOF adds a lot. I like the effect of the large aperture. I'm going to look into buying a 50mm lens. The only thing I would change is to have a sharper focus on the aces than on the thumb. My eyes first see the aces but then get drawn to the wrinkles on the thumb. But that's just me being picky.

The best card shot I have seen in a long time here on DPC. Good composition, lighting and the shallow DOF works very well here.

I'm giving this one a 10 - I'm not sure what attracted me to it, aside from the color, but I really like it. It's different than all of the other entries I've seen so far. And, of course, I know how hard it is to get a good shot like this. I like your depth of field - not being able to see the community cards is a good thing. Constructive criticism - the background is noticeably grainy. The foreground looks good and sharp, though. Great shot!

I like this idea better than the other card picture in this challenge. Nice colors and DOF too.

Good hand. Nice DOF. Like the colors but appear a little over-saturated. Skin tones on the hand too orange and unnatural.

I think that it would been more elegant if it would been darker.
