So I've been up all night setting up and doing this shoot and I'm in ps and not real happy with the results. I keep thinking, this really just looks like 3 guitars standing in front of an amp, kind of 'snap-shottish', you know. I'm zooming in checking out detail and stuff, and suddenly, I see (close to) this view in the window. It catches my attention, so I fit back to screen and do a crop close to what I saw, and suddenly I liked it. I thought this much more interesting than just the full shot of 3 guitars standing in front of an amp. Of course, to you, it may still just look like 3 guitars standing in front of an amp, but hey, I tried :-) I like it, and the really cool thing is, now I have used ALL my guitars (8) in challenge photos. Cool, huh? hehehe

I also went to Meijers after work at 1 in the a.m. to buy a black sheet (had to get a whole set, that sux) and then with this crop, didn't actually need it...grrrrrr. But I know I'll use it in the future, after all, Sheila get's upset when I use her black skirts and stuff for backdrops :-P

Anyways, set up in my bedroom, used my clamp lights, and as usual took a ton of shots and had to cull through them to find that special one! (yeah, right) No other lights. No flash.

Oh, and then I get done editing, go to enter it and...DOH!!! -basic editing, maroon! I had done a faded overlay layer and thought it really made the photo. Shoot !!! So I go back into photoshop, redo it without the overlay, work some more on tweaking levels trying to get it at least close. Not too far off, but I still like the overlay version better, but oh well, we'll see how this does I guess.

So in ps- cropped, usm, gaussian blur w/opacity dropped, levels adj., and NO overlay, darnit :-P

Anyways, thanks for checking out my pic, hope you like it, and found my anecdotes at least slightly amusing. :-)

unfortunately the colours of the guitars and amp tend to be too close and the backround makes it quite busy, better just the guitars imo, white on centre guitar blown oout. good crop, good idea.
