 this is almost straight out of the cam. just darkened the clouds a bit, the red is as is.
Taken with my old Olympus C-4000 zoom.

nice color in the sky there appears to be some either lights or noise in the dark areas. These can be taken out using a clone brush or something like that. I don't know if the composition would help if you took some of the shadow out of the bottom but, I personally don't think so.
