Thought this was a clear image with very nice contrasting textures with the wood overall the strongest. The rest I thought only served to make the wood stand out - the branches almost acting as leading lines. Nice clarity and focus, good control of the natural light.

** Greetings from the Critique Club **

Good DOF and Focus. Lighting works well here. The subject matter is not very interesting, but the contrasting lines and angles give a plus to this image. Unique.

I like this. The vertical wooden planks contrasting against the horizontal brickwork. And both being contrasted against the natural curves of the tree. Nice subtle tones too;)

I love this simple presentation. Were the challenge something other than 'wood,' I suppose I would assert that the blankness of the left side overbalances the more interesting right.

I like the lines and how the branches break through them - love the composition. Is this sepia?

I find this image very intriguing due to the inclusion of the tree. I really think that adds so much though I'm stumped as to figure out why. I think it may be the competing textures - the randomness of the tree balances out the rigidity of the vertical wood. Irregardless, I like the tones, the composition, think the DOF and POV are perfect and think the lighting works. 8 - good luck in the challenge!

Not a bad shot, but it coverest he entire frame and is a little boring

When I first saw this image pop up on my screen, I wanted to rotate the picture 90 degrees to the left because I thought I was seeing 3 seperate trees. Then I saw the bricks and got orientated. Perhaps taking the picture more to the right to include at least part of the trunk of the large tree would have helped the confusion.
