The middle vein is too distracting especially since it's largely out of focus. I'm wondering if you shot it more diagonally or even horizontally if it would work better and since the shot is landscape style the theme "Miles to Go" would work better. With the shot as is it seems the ant has nearly reached his destination.

A good idea and subject, but I think in this case, the dof here seems to be taking away a lot of the texture.
