 We have lots of pine cones in our area, but I've only found one tree that makes these kind.

Tritone, highlight/shadow, brightness and USM after re-sizing.

This duotone is wonderful; I love the cone and needles in this composition..well done...good use of dof to keep the eyes on foreground.

This is great. Love the choice of tone and the sap is cool. Truly does look like a basket weave! This is a very nice composition.

Certainly a nice image as is, but I think that some added brightness could do a great deal of benefit here.
