The change between the floor and back should have been smoother. This would have looked better as well as iving an illusion of distance.

Too much shadow, lighting doesn't seem to be good... very bright, not extremely interesting. Subject is cool, with it's detail, just wish it wouldn't just be a glass ball sitting on a table.

the backdrop is a bit distracting, and if you're going to include the shadow, I'd include more of it (but that's just me)

my guess is you used flash. There is a flare area visible on the upper right side of your glass ball.
