I am not sure how this relates to independence but then again it's all in the intent of the photographer right? What i would like to comment on is the photo itself. It seems like you took this as a reflection against a red hood of a car. The hot spot to the right of the image is a bit distracting and washes out the focus of the viewer. Maybe a little saturation so as the red truly is red and not so much on the lighter shade (it could even be seen as a darker pink). Anyway, I do commend your intent and maybe a few more practices on this technicque and it could just very well be incredibly effective.
This does nothing for me. Not enough contrast, not sharp, light glare on the surface (could fix with a polarizer), no real subject, not much connection to the challenge, just overall not appealing to me. 1
