Photograph Information Photographer's Comments
Challenge: Family (Advanced Editing IV)
Camera: Canon EOS-10D
Lens: Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS
Location: Rural Rio Grande County in Colorado
Date: Jul 10, 2005
Aperture: F5.6
ISO: 200
Shutter: 1/90
Galleries: Family, Animals
Date Uploaded: Jul 10, 2005

Editing: crop, levels, auto contrast, boost saturation by +5, select as much of background as I could with the wand - noise removal on that; more levels, resize, unsharp mask, sharpen eyes, save for web.

This little colt seems to love his Mom a lot. To me that's what family means - Love - with a capital L.

I love the soft fuzziness of this shot - the little fuzzy grasses, the fuzzy colt, the fuzzy shallow DOF... :) This is beautiful. Lovely shot.

"Mom, why do I have to start eating that yucky greem stuff?"!

It's a little bit flat. Upping the contrast or playing with the levels/curves would really make this image pop out at the viewer

Very nice.... thought crosses my mind that a new born foal would be a good subject for independence as well...

The whispy grass elements really add something extra to this for me...nice

The color is a bit unrealistic (hue/saturation) but then I love things that are bit off color. The tails are putting life into this one.

Beautiful horses and great lighting. I wouldn't change a thing except maybe to tell mom to keep her tail still. :-) 10

nice photo although the grass seems to be lacking in contrast in the background - and almost too sharp in in the foreground as if it has been over-sharpened.

Oh this is stunning. The swish of the tails in tandem! Priceless. This may win the blue!!! I say 10!!!
