This is a nice b/w photo with good tonal range. The sky appears a bit too post processed though. Nice work.

Gone to get fuel for the mower, I hope! Interesting photograph, made especially so by the person (is it mother?) in the background. I like the dark, gothic tones, but not so much the theatrical processing of the sky. 7

Not real sure about the blur effect in the background. I do like the composition. Alittle dark? Still nice photo.

The gaussian blur here for the sky seems a bit harsh especially since the edges of the house is now a lot sharper. Was it due to an overcast sky or no sky at all? I do like the composition and the look of the little boy. He seems a little pissed that dad isn't home yet ;)

The sky doesn't look right but I love the rest of the photo. The tones are great. Fix the sky and this would be a 10. As is - 8. Good luck in the challenge.

like the ambience of the shot ... I also like the dramatic light on the kids ... the older person in the back corner is more of a distraction than an addition to me.

This has true emotion to it. The back person is almost unnoticed at first. very well done!

What a sad photo! Unfortunately, an all-too-accurate depcition of today's family, isn't it?

Not sure about the background but love the b/w and contrast here.

the sky looks a little odd, I think. Otherwise, its very dark, but the details still come through. 6

I wish the sky wasn't so overdone....other than that....great!!!

I like it. Maybe too much blur in the sky for my taste.

Great work! Love the grittiness and contrast here. Very holga-ish. Top marks.

I wish it was a tighter shot of the boys. I love them all bundled up. Maybe crop out all but the picnic table and lighten it up a bit.

Not sure about this shot. It invokes a sense of poverty and desparation to me - not family other than the title. Nicely shot - well composed. Could be a little brighter/a little less processing on the sky.

I like the composition and tones but the sky just looks over edited to me to the point were the dark clouds look like they have been created in PS even if they haven't

Wow! Where is it so cold?

The black and white is distracting over in the top right corner where the sky meets the building and the other space that I think is a lake. Maybe just too much in the photo.

Mom gets real lost in this photo due to the harsh contrast. The sky looks over processed. Just not my style I guess.

I love this!!! The sky is weird-I don't like what you did to it. This is still my fav so far.

This photo has a huge emotional payload I quite like. The stark contrast is very good. Focus is good. DOF is good. I like the woman in the background juxtaposed with the kids in the foreground.I am sorry to see the overly blurred sky and the post processing artifacts along the fence line and the roofline.

looks to me like to much editing on the sky

This si so close... The stark, harsh tonalities of the main image are wonderful. The soft, blurred sky, especially how it doesn't fit smoothly with the structure, really hurts thi sone in my eyes. I wish you'd gone with a much more natural rendition. There's SO much to love in the rest of it.
