 No ants were harmed for this shot! Little sugar water imprinted on a white canvas backdrop...and time for these little gals to gather. Minor PS with levels, and inverse (from typical) levels correction. CS2 smart sharpen.

Interesting setup. I don't much care for the explanation in the title and would have been better if the ants cooperated and got in line in order to form a more perfect circle - so to speak. Great effort here, though.

For this contest everyone who has the word “circle” in their title is getting a max 10 score. This is a copy and paste version that I am including in every photo that I upgrade to 10 due to the title. We as members of DPchallenge need to be reminded of the topic of the challenge – we really need to reread the topic every time we reach a photo. If circle is in the title and it is appropriate I will give a 10. I am sorry if you do not agree with my method of voting – but scores are all I have.

Ok your title works but I have an issue with titles using the challenge word - I realy like your photo and the since the title works I have not downgraded it - I give it a 7

Neat. The focus is good, but the blue cast around each ant tends to make them look blurrier than they really are. I've had trouble with the blue cast myself (my entry for the Granular challenge suffered from the same thing). It's a cool shot, though. 7

I would have rated this higher if the color balance had been adjusted to a more neutral color. The shadows are all tinted blue on my monitor, though not intensively. Still it ruins the mood. Excellent idea and setup. How'd you do it? 6.

Nicely done, utterly quirky. Don't like the bluey-green colourcast thats especially evident in their shadows.

Awesome idea, I tried to shoot a circular anthole but apparently around here, ants prefer semi-circles. And I love the title

Why do they have blueish shadows and purplish glow? Save for those two things, very good.

I just told someone else how creative they were for their ant shot. Great minds must think alike, or else you two are friends! This one is really cool too, though more ants might have made the circle fuller.

Well ants are all right outside its when they come in the house that drive me nuts. You must have these trained. Nice shot and capture.
