Not much USM was used, but I did use curves in my raw editor to tame the bright background a bit as well as pop the colors on the butterfly. |

Great capture, nice perspective, lovely colours. Did this need much sharpening/added contrast. I was wondering what it would look like with a bit less. |

The colours are amazing. (Interesting body paint) The image has a painterly feel. |

Thanks. Actually, you are looking at his head, these fellows have unique coloring. His proboscus is down in the flower taking nourishment. You can just make it out in the front of him. |

What a beautiful butterfly!! Your colours, focus and dof are excellent, love the wings extended like that. I would have voted this high, though if he'd been turned round and you could have seen his head it probably would have got an even higher score. Great shot! |
