My wife found this odd beetle on the beach on Cape Cod, i don't know where the odd yellow came from but I would guess it was the salt water. Shot in raw, converted slightly warmed to compensate for the overcast, then dumped to PS where I darkened it a bit in levels and USMed at 0,.5,160 and by mistake did it twice so I kept it that way. saved for web and usmed at 0,.5,60.

I love the color and texture here on the scarab - would like to see a close up of it alone. The shell complements the scarabs color, but it seems odd to see the two together.
Love the colors and the detail, but there's something about the composition that doesn't work too well for me. It sorta looks like the beetle and shell are going to fall out of the picture. Don't know how else to phrase that, but it's kinda optically disturbing to me.
