I had a lot of fun with this one. Don't know how this will score. The paper is one saved from my childhood, and is covering the showdown that led to the Berlin Airlift and ultimately the cold war.

The gun is real - a Belgum something-or-other, given to my mom by her dad when she moved to the big city (atlanta) for her personal protection. I included it to symbolize the danger of the times.

The watch was my grandfather's. I set the time to 11:59, to symbolize how close mankind came to ending itself in a nuclear fury during the cold war.

I have no idea if this will do well, but I can say I enjoyed thinking it through and shooting it.

Oh yes, the scotch? I like scotch.

This really looks like it belongs on the cover of an old spy novel about WWII, if not for the headlines on the newspaper. For some reason, I am reminded of the novel; "Heart of the matter", although that could be the glass and the content of it.
The composition and symmetry of the image is very well arranged, although I don't want to know where you got hold of a pistol (even if it looks somewhat fake, I am sure it is only the lighting ... plastic would have been more glossy) this is a very good image.
Keep up the good work.

Awesome idea! Very original. I like the "old fashoned" feel the lighting gives. One of my favs.
