You have potential here, but I think the horizontal placement on the grass makes it a bit static-y. The knife looks rather impotent just lying there; I think a more aggressive/dynamic "pose" would have served you better, and would have given the knife the respect i think you are trying to convey. Also, I think a better background (the grass makes it seem "innocent" or "weak" to me somehow) and more dramatic lighting would have given this shot the edge it needed (no pun intended.)

I feel that the knife is just lost in the grass, a more interesting background might be better, perhaps

caveat: i'm a beginner. that said...i find myself quite bored by the composition.

It would have been cooler if the knife was stabbed into the ground.

I think you could have found a more interesting way to show off this knife. Just laying on the grass, it looks like someone dropped it and left it. Even sticking it into the ground would have added some impact to the image.

We all know that this is a metal challenge. Excluding the word "metal" would reflect a differant perspective, and strengthen the title. Titleing actuall too long.

comp needs work, lighting ok, should be on ebay not dpc, nice lines, nice texture, crop needs work, blacks good, whites barely in, color ok, overall boring.

would like to see a LOT more creativity than just laying a knife in the grass 4

my goal is to comment on every photo in this challenge..heres urs..good luck.. good comp but i think i would have cropped out the brown patches in the grass and boosted green sats a bit more

Yes, it's a metal object, but it doesn't do much for me. IF the sun had been at a different angle, you might have gotten some interesting shadows.

Why is this knife on the grass. Do you cut the grass with it? Think about a more creative background and lighting that might add to the shot.

The background lets this photo down, the grass is as interesting if not more than the main subject IMHO Good luck
