In front of the Culver City Veterans Memorial Building (across from Sony Studios) at 1:30am. "Filmstrip USA" a stainless steel work by artist Natalie Krol, dedicated in 1981. More info here.

I have been wanting to shoot this for a while. I see it every day on my way to work. Grabbed my tripod and stopped by on my way home the other day. The lights shut off just as I arrived, perhaps for the better. Lit by the orange street lights and some green-ish lights behind.

Cropped, Curves, Levels to bring out some of the detail in the metal, light use of USM.

Two alternates from this shot I considered in my portolio are here and here.

Returning for comment - I really like the lighting and color. I'm sure you were going for the reflection but I wish the top of this wasn't cut off. Maybe step back a few steps. Bumping up.

Great composition! Metal focal point sitting in a reflective pond like base. Trees (wood) in the backround adds a subliminal warmth along with the fantastic lighting.

Very creative photograph! Like the colors, dof. Interesting composition that just makes this a "wow!" At first glance, I thought it was a film strip. 10.

Nice shot, too bad the editing rules would not let you edit out the flag in the background. None the less, great shot. 9
