see the halo around him? that's from oversharpening with the USM...of course it kind of works here with the statue pointing upward to God...angelic in a weird way 7

Odd haloing.

there is a halo around the statue- a little oversharpened

Great pic except I saw a halo effect around the subject distracting.

he's glowing! I think that's oversharpened - it's over something. A softer touch in post production would make this a better image

a little too much unsharp mask!

This software enhancemenet of lightness near the object may be an add or a fuzzy making issue. I like the subject.

A little too heavy on the shadow/highlight option there buddy... You got a horrible halo around the statue.

A succesful detail, angle and a composition from another work of art, statue. The edges seems, however, quite strange. Maybe the original photo is not sharp enough and it has been sharpened afterwards too much.

What is that coloring effect on the outline of the statue? I don't think the photo needs it.
06/23/2005 06:23:02 AM
Too heavy on the usm probably not necessary at all, good angle though..

The halo around the sculptural figure looks like too much noise reduction was applied. It looks more like an illustration than a photo.

The use of negative space and composition is nice. The tones on the bronze are excellent.

Yay for Washington Square! Interesting effect with the color adjustment and white rim around the statue.

Deliberate. Harsh. Good lighting, just needs something to soften it up a little.

Way too much PS, otherwise a good photo!
06/22/2005 12:16:49 PM
how did you make it glow in the basic editing?
06/22/2005 11:08:05 AM
the odd "glow" around the edges of this statue make me wonder if it has been altered in a way thats not basic

Too much USM - a Halo is clearly visible around the character. Good composition and exposure & focus are spot on.

The edges around the statue look weird, almost superimposed.
