The original shot is very well executed. For having tried myself, I know it is very difficult to take a macro picture of an eye, especially when it's yours... The detail you captured is incredible. I also like the treatment you applied. It enhances the subject without giving the image a too much unnatural look.
My main criticism is about the multi-image composition. The idea of using different crops of the original: I think it is a good idea, but not when the original is a macro shot. In my opinion it is interesting to point out the details of an image by showing different crops at different zoom levels, but not if the original is already a macro. The pictures on the left of the original don't really add anything in my opinion. They may have added something if they were tighter crops of certain areas. But you would have needed even more detail to achieve this, which was very difficult with this subject.
So, to summarize: great original picture, but maybe not the perfect subject for the theme.

I really like the close-up effects on the cornea. I don't much care for the B/W shot in the middle, but that is just me. |

I wonder what the size of these pics are... Nice macro shots. The iris has amazing detail. |

I'm not sure you should have desaurated the center photo, but hey, it's your photo. |
