This butterfly was motionless while I snapped this photo. Models like him are hard to find. He finally flew off after I took several macro shots. I trimmed this photo to add to the impact of his facial features. I had some nice outtakes, but let my hubby help me with chosing my entry this time.

Here I tried some tricks with your image.
What I think is that you should avoid as much perspective as possible when you are trying a bang on shot like this. Or it should be about the same central axis. Also I think space on top is a little too much..takes the focus away from the butterfly.

Nice! Lighten it up a hair imo. But still excellent capture.

eyeball to eyeball! I'd crop the top of the frame, maybe even a little at the bottom. Wish there cold have been more directional lighting - something to add contrast.

I think a deeper DOF would have worked a little better. But good detail on the face.

great macro, would not have minded a great DOF to capture more of the butterfly (or whatever it is)

A bit more DOF would have increased my vote.
