I don't think the selective desaturation does anything fo this shot personally. I think it actually detracts (within the framework of the challenge) as it sucks your attention away from the metal. Most certaily the metal is the main subject, yet I can't really look at it because the sign and flag keep distracting me.

I hope I'm wrong about the selective desaturation in this image during a basic challenge and if I am then this deserves a big fat 10

We all know that this is a metal challenge. Excluding the word "metal" would reflect a differant perspective, and strengthen the title.

nice lines, great comp, nice tonal values, blacks good, whites a bit impure but not bad, crop just ok, color ok, overall very good

Cool car. Cool angle to shoot it from. Did you desaturate everything but the red channel? I'm not sure why you would do that, since it unnecessarily draws attention to the sign on the building.

Nice angle. It shows some attitude.

I think this would have been better if you had gotten a closer shot of the car without showing the shop in the background.

Well now. What model year would it be? 64? This was definitely metal in these years. Did bw help? Where the headlight rims the central metal item? The bumper did not help with the chrome display.

Good DOF, color use and "story" -- not to mention it was a very good year.... -- 10

I like the single saturation of color. Nice angle.
