Photograph Information Photographer's Comments
Challenge: Metal (Basic Editing III)
Camera: Canon EOS-300D Rebel
Lens: Canon EF 75-300mm f/4.0-5.6 II/III USM
Location: Old MacDonald Farm
Date: Jun 18, 2005
Aperture: 5.6
ISO: 400
Shutter: 1/200
Galleries: Black and White, Rural
Date Uploaded: Jun 18, 2005

This is a latch on a chicken coop. Its metal, if anyone needs to ask. They welded a horseshoe to it to make it 'fancy.' Gotta love rural ingenuity. Maybe I belong on a farm.

Anyway, 95% of the work was done in RSE: Highlight and shadow contrast & desaturate. This gives a very high contrast image without adding all the noise and artifacts found in PS.
The 5% in PS was sharpen, brightness, save for web. Its getting difficult to figure out what can be done in PS in Basic Challenges so I am now trying to stick with what I can do in RSE.

The only lens I had with me was the 75-300 so I had to stand back and shoot. At 75mm.

Hope you enjoy, all comments appreciated!

This is one of those well done images that linger in one's third eye. Impeccable rendition wherein the tonal values are use to enhance the subject.
