This is 10 blades from a machine that cuts thin veneer from hardwoods. Working on my lighting with this shot.

John, you are right, techically it *is* a very good photo. I gave it a 7. The only, basically insignificant, technical comment i can see as relevent to this image is that the white is "whiter" or better lit behind the blade than in front. The lighting on the blades though (which is what really matters) is perfect.
So it really came down to personal preferance - when i first saw the image i thought, i wish he had gotten closer to the blades, maybe no white at all - so we could be emmersed in the black and silver waves. I stand by my first impression. I dont know what this talk is about stray hairs? Someone must have super sonic eyes, because i cant see any!!

I liked this one. I can't say what's good or bad about it, but I just thought it fit the challenge well. Ie. the focus lighting was good, etc..

This wide a view was probably used in order for viewers to be able to identify the object however the pattern of the blades is very interesting and I feel a closer crop would add to that interest.

Darker background would help set this apart.

The pattern of this image really caught my eye. I like the placement of the blades. However, the top blade is not spaced as even as the others are. Nice job in making a plain saw blade interesting.

Nice stacking job. I like the little color that welds have left. Breacks up the solid steel look.

It's all in the set up........
Gave it a 9 would have been 10 without the stray hairs!
