This is my Harry Potter dragon "Norbert". He moves and makes noises, burps and beathes "fire". Dragons are a favourite of mine. I took this picture out in our back garden. I cropped it and made some changes through Photoshop like changing the colour and lighting slightly.

Great shot of a toy, but it works for me for this topic - 5

Color and general image technical quality is good. The setting is nice and hiding your main subject behind out of focus leaves works for this composition.

Toys have been overused in DPC entries in the past and generally do not do well in challenges. Viewers have become jaded to them. This will hurt the score of this image more so than any technical flaw.

Well, I saw your comment in the forums regarding people not thinking that dragons are fantasy and thought I'd come check it out to see if I could offer any advice on that subject and I think I have found a reason. The way you present this little guy, makes him look like a turtle in the weeds. And as bransheart states, there's not much fantasy about that. I (and I'm sure MANY people who are unfamiliar with HP) did not recognize this as a dragon. So, while he may BE a dragon and THAT is definately fantasy...all we can see is his little face, which definately resembles the common turtle.
Hope this helps to clarify why you may have received the comment about this not seeiming fantasy-ish.

Have to admit I laughed pretty hard on first look. So hard that my secretary came in the office and asked me if I was ok. I like it. Nice job.
