 Dramatic lighting on an antique timepiece. The Universal Ring Dial was widely used as a clock prior to the 17th century because pocket watches were expensive and unreliable. George Washington was one famous historic figure who carried one.

Tripod, natural windowlight, set on wooden cutting board for background. Used curves enhancement and fiddled with overall color balance to enhance the "gold" feel. I purposely overexposed at the spot the sun was hitting the metal, hoping to bring out the "metallic" feel - which will probably backfire on me... :)

I really like this shot. I only wish the front part was in focus and the back blurred. Maybe a little more DOF as well.

Very nice image. I would like it more of the dial was in focus, but that is me and others would may like it out of focus. Again nice photo.

my goal is to comment on every photo in this challenge..heres urs..good luck.. for me the overhead light seems too hot for shiney metal but this is an excellent photo 8

cropped too much! i wanna see the circular dials! or if u had intended to leave them out, then u should have cropped more instead of letting them hanging in midway. but i still like this shot a lot.
