I used spell check an everything seems on the up and up. in fact here is a cut and paste from dictionary.com if this is the word you think needs spell check.

mau·so·le·um ( P ) Pronunciation Key (môs-lm, -z-)
n. pl. mau·so·le·ums or mau·so·le·a (-l)
A large stately tomb or a building housing such a tomb or several tombs.
A gloomy, usually large room or building.

Other than that I agree with your comments

Hrm, this looks familiar. Wichita! I think it may have been better had you got more of the doors in the shot to suggest what is behind them and also show more of the fear of death. Too much bright sunlight for a lot of people I imagine.

It would probably have been better to snap one shot in the doorway of one of them, you are probably going to get voted down for an otherwise fine photo..

edit to add: Sorry for the spelling thing. I'm a horrible speller and have no business trying to correct others for it.

I like this because mausoleum's are the stuff of old horror movies...they are dark, full of death and you don't tend to come out again:) So there is darkness inside as well as the emotion of darkness. The fact that you have shown them in bright sunshine adds to the contrast of the meaning..if you see what I mean?;)

the title tell us what you think about darkness but the photo does not.
