Very nice, I really like the grain in this image, adds to the "dark" feel of the subject. Nicely done. Good luck.

Mmm.
Nice photo.
ISO 1600, with a lowered AV/EV value would have been good too, and would have given you a natural grainy look

This is the classic modern day misunderstood youth image. Use of B&W and high grain is proper in this context. It fits the challenge topic well. It is well composed and you have captured a great expression. It has a nice soid black and the tonal range is very good.

The score received is generally related to the connection the average viewer makes with the subject. They do not have to like the subject but they do have to find a basis of understanding. The rebelliosness of youth will not be enough for most DPCers to relate to this image. You probably accept that and don't expect it to get a high score.

On the technical side the image has a number of white specks in the black background that are distracting and should be removed. You might have considered shifting the camera more to the right so that both hands show complete in the frame. That would give the image better balence.

Overall this is a good picture.

The grain fits well into this image, always like focus in eyes though...

This is a really weird picture. Good job! Second pass: Bumping up. Still a really strange picture.

The noise in this photo takes away from it a lot. also, your border is uneven (not judgeing that, just letting you know)

There is a lot of noise, but in this case think it adds to the photo really well.

I really enjoy a good grainy photo (one where the grain has merit) and this is definatley that imho.

The photo itself isn't too bad,
but the way you spelled "darkness" in the title just kind of ruined it for me...
plus I hate when people write like this (ExAmPlE)

Create way to meet the challenge. I like the grainess in this instance...it contributes to the feeling of the photo. Good job.

The graininess works with that teenage goth angst. I like it.

Good composition, but would have benefitted from slightly more light... Seems like the ISO was bumpbed beyond what the camera could deliver.
