This was taken at a memorial site in Norfolk, Virginia. I thought the phrase was eerie in a way.

Good one but I wonder if it can manage scores. 7.

Perhaps "DEATHS" should be in full focus, rather than part of "OUR" and part of "DEATHS".

More light would have allowed you to shoot at an f stop that would have solved the depth of field problem in the photo.

That's a very intriging message on the sign. Your choice for going B&W certainly helps this photograph. Good luck

I had trouble rating this one.
It is a great photo,
and I like how you chose to put this in black and white.
In the end I gave it a nine.

I love this!!! 10

Great interpretation.

Like the shallow DOF, though it might be a little too shallow? Like it.

Very interesting find. Like the focus of the words (how it fades)

cool idea, keep going

Nice use of the word death. I would have liked to have seen the focus shifted a little so "death" was all in focus with "our" fadding away.

interesting perspective - would prefer more DOF on this shot

Excellent and thought-provoking choice of DOF. Lovely blow out on the top left. Simple subject, but one that speaks well to the challenge theme. Interesting use of light in a challenge filled with literally dark shots, and not exactly dark motivations. The juxtapositioning works well. 10.

Needs a greater DOF.
06/15/2005 01:14:29 PM
A slightly larger DOF would have worked better, since the text is too important to be unreadable. Also, I would have focused on the word Death. 7.

I think that this photo would have profited greatly from a better DOF. Since your target is the words and not the picture. Just my Opinion...

Cheers,

Eric R Thibodeau...
