Many thanks for those who commented on this photo. It was fun to read what you had to say.

This is a cave facing the Mediteranean in the south of France. It is not, unfortunately, my own. We were vacationing there and I saw the cave & bed from a peddle boat I was on with my family. I made them go back the next day to photograph it, but there were 8 foot swells, so I'm afraid it wasn't quite as crisp as I'd have liked.

Again, thanks for voting & commenting!

Most viewers will see nothing wrong with this mage that even hints that it needs to be disqualified. Midtones are good and the framing using the lower wall is an excellent idea.

This does not look like a true B&W. It looks more toned. Contrast seems slightly weak but not bad. Photographically, the placement of objects in the frame is fine. and the curtained enclosure is well placed.

Voters will have difficulty making a strong connection to the darkness theme and probably will vote it lower because of it. It is fascinating to have an outdoor bed complete with formal lighting in a cave-like enclosure. It certain should give voters plenty to think about. :)

The main technical flaw is the overexposed part of the curatin that is in direct sunlight. It would have been better if you had went and pulled that out of the sunshine before taking the picture.

this is very intriguing shot . I get a feeling of solitude and seclusion. If that is darkness so be it. I give this a very high score. Well done! Good luck!

Is it a tree? Logic tells me its a cave, but i wish it were a giant tree. And someone put a bed in it, so great!
I think the lattic work distracts from the real suject in the picture, i personally would have cropped it out, despite how beautiful it is.

Really weird shot. Did you take a bed and put it in a cave? That must have been fun. Nice contrast and certainly a differenct presentation of sleeping in a den.
