I'm seriously surprised that this is way down here in teens. I was sure it was a top ten contender. One of two favorites from me!

Nice shot, but not in line with the topic

i like a lot in this photo, the smooth water, the texture of the rocks, i really like the title once I looked up aphotic in the dictionary, but the color seems to unnatural, and i would have liked it to be cropped a little more on the bottom. Just my personal preferences, I'm not saying there's anything wrong with the photo.

Love the gold tone that the water has...nice work with long exposure!
Nice capture! :)

doesnt look aphotic at all, with its magnificent golden shine, but still it perfectly evokes dark underground... even, ummm, hell... where was it taken anyway? :-)

Beautiful shot. It looks like flowing lava.

Nice use of colour. I love the gold in the highlights, and the sharp texture of the rocks contrasting the soft water. Not quite sure of the link to Darkness, but it's a great shot.

Lovely capture! The stones are perfectly focussed, and the long exposure works really well to soften the water. It does need the title to meet the challenge, but that's no bad thing - it's all about interpretation, after al! 9

[If it has no light, how did you capture it? Thanks for teaching me a new word, though!]

I'm not qualified to comment on this per its technical merit, but I find it exceptional. Is this a timed shot at night?

This could've worked in the fantasy challenge too. Very very nice. Nice use of lighting and shadows. One of my top picks

This should do good but personally I don't care for the red tones...

Beautiful tones, lovely image and very nice clarity/focus, but I don't envision 'darkness' when I see this really. That said, obviously you do so its really a moot point. The picture doesn't speak to me of darkness so I'm scoring on general impact and technical work. I gave a 6

Lighting is special and neat. Too bad the water doesn't look more like water and less like a mushy blur.

this one looks like a winner.good use of slow shutter to create the soft water effect. a little extra crop off the rocky area might help. but then again, this is good enough. see you with a ribbon next week.

Nice title to complement your photograph. I hope the less scientific members understand the meaning. LOL Good luck.

IMHO this image -- although very nice -- did not meet the challenge
Damn I hate that also because the image is striking... but I dont see the connection to the challenge
