You can say that again...
So now I'm looking at this tiny little flame on this tiny little candle in the middle of all this meaningless darkness.
Mmm.
Why am I voting for you again?

Little more of light would have helped. This is too black.

I like negative space, though you might have just too much of it.. good luck.

Nice minimalist interpretation of the challenge topic. The flame is not badly overexposed and the mid-tones (what few there are! LOL) are good. Nice solid black background.

There is really nothing wrong with this image photogaphically speaking at all. Its score will depend on how appealing voters find your minimlist interpretation.

Not quite enough going on. The picture looks to be black and white, yet there is a hint of blue on the flame.

simple shot, but I think the BW lacks focus. Candles can have rich colours, but it's lost here

Meets the challenge, but is too uninteresting. 3

I tried many interpretations of this - with and without the title - but they all came up weak. Maybe I am missing something that only you know? 5

nice idea, b&w good, nice minimalism,

we all know that this is a Darkness challenge, how about next time reducing your title. "Enveloping" says the same thing, and is more dramatic.

better than a lot of the other candle shots i've seen, but still doesn't do much for me. IMHO

Beautiful. Pure and simple. One little candle with so much black space around it really seems to emphasise the 'darkness', even though the eye becomes drawn toward the flame of the candle. Your photo, I think, meets the challenge well and works for me on both an artistic and emotional level. I'm still learning about the technical side of photography, so I don't feel able to comment on ways you might improve on that, but the image looks clear - in focus - and I like the composition. Giving this a 10.
